CARLOVIAN TRADITIONAL MUSIC CLUB

Dia dhaoibh go léir.

The time has come around again! Firstly, thanks for your support for the last two folk clubs. They were an outstanding success, both musically and socially. Once again the musicians left Carlow raving about the venue, the room and, of course, yourselves the audience.

We are delighted to welcome the next pair of musicians to Carlow. Jackie Daly needs no introduction to anyone with even a passing interest in trad music. He has made his mark with bands like De Danann, Arcady and Patrick Street . He has recorded duets with Kevin Burke and Seamus Creagh as well as solo recordings. He has a lovely rhythm to his music and, coupled with his sharp wit, should provide a funny and interesting nights entertainment.

Paul De Grae has played in the club before. He has a gentle and sensitive style of guitar playing and other musicians love to play with him- as strong a testament to his ability that I can think of! He is now based in Tralee and can be seen there  regularly at sessions when he is not touring the country and abroad.

The gig is on Friday, 2nd March, 2007, in the Carlovian, Tullow Street , Carlow and starts at 9.30. I would recommend an early arrival for this one as entry is first-come, first-served!! Admission is €15. Once again, a gentle reminder that conversation is discouraged during the performance- a mark of respect for the lads on stage, and a courtesy to other attendees.

There you have it! I hope you can come along. I think it will be (another) memorable night and a great chance to see a living legend (cliché, I know, but soo apt!) in action up close and personal! Again please tell anyone you know who may be interested and is outside our information net. See you there.

Dave
